Taiwan media have reported that actor Darren Wang (Wang Talu) has been arrested on suspicion of evading mandatory military service. He is currently undergoing questioning, with further details under investigation.
According to reports, the New Taipei District Prosecutors Office received allegations of individuals evading military service, including claims that a doctor was involved in issuing false medical certificates. Today (Feb.18), prosecutors launched a raid and arrested Wang along with nine others. Investigations are ongoing.
In response to past concerns about Wang's military service, his manager previously stated that education and military service are essential parts of every man's journey. The manager also emphasized that acting is Wang's passion and that the company has always worked to ensure everything proceeds smoothly. Furthermore, it was noted that Wang had attended a military academy in the past, suggesting there was no reason for him to avoid service.
Darren Wang rose to fame in Taiwan with his breakout role in the hit movie Our Times.
