Secretary for Home & Youth Affairs Alice Mak on Wednesday (April 17) led a delegation of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government District Officers (DOs) to start their district governance study program at the National Academy of Governance (NAG) in Beijing.
Addressing the program's opening ceremony, Mak said under the improved district governance system, the 18 DOs, as representatives of the Hong Kong SAR Government at the district level and District Council Chairmen, shoulder the important responsibility of enhancing district governance.
She said it is a great opportunity for the DOs to receive training at the NAG at the start of the seventh-term district councils, and hoped the delegation members can put the knowledge they learned into practice in their future work.
NAG Executive Vice President Xie Chuntao also gave a lecture to the delegation on "Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era".
