HK property sales up 24.2% in Jan
The Land Registry recorded 4,427 sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration in January, up 24.2% compared with December 2022, but 25.1% lower year-on-year.
The total consideration for such agreements rose 25.6% from December to $32.5 billion in January, while a 40.3% year-on-year decrease was recorded.
Of the agreements, 3,051 were for residential units, up 21.7% from December but 28.6% lower than a year ago.
The total consideration of residential units was $25.4 billion, a rise of 20.9% compared with December, but down 41.4% from January last year.
There were 321,347 land register searches last month.
