Tam Yiu-chung and DAB meet with CE Ho Iat-seng to strengthen cooperation between HK and Macao

The Chief Executive of Macao, Ho Iat-seng, met yesterday (Jan. 31) with Tam Yiu-chung, a member of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee and Advisor of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB), to exchange views on issues such as strengthening cooperation between HK and Macao and promoting the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

More than 20 members of the DAB attended the meeting.

Ho said that Macao will actively and pragmatically promote the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. He also expects to attract more HK investment in the future to jointly promote the development of the In-Depth Cooperation Zone.

Besides, Ho gave an overview of the economic development of Macao and the introduction of talents, and shared his experience of anti-epidemics in Macao over the past three years.

The delegation wanted to know more about the overall housing policy of Macao, and Ho also gave an in-depth introduction. Tam and the delegation thanked Ho for his meeting and said that cooperation between HK and Macao is "very important".

He also said that further collaboration between the two places will play a greater role in the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
