As the Lunar New Year is approaching, the HK government will present the Urban Lunar New Year Lantern Displays "The Luck-Bringing Rabbit - Lanterns to Celebrate the New Year" at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) Piazza from today (Jan. 12) to celebrate the advent of the Lunar New Year with members of the public. The display will last until February 7 and admission is free.

The Intangible Cultural Heritage Office under the LCSD is presenting a dazzling and joyful display of festive lanterns to members of the public. The office is collaborating with local master Hui Ka-hung, who has more than 30 years of experience in traditional paper crafting, to produce several sprightly rabbits, energetic lions, festive food and dim sum to add festive colour and a joyful atmosphere to the HKCC Piazza and to promote the art of traditional paper crafting.

Meanwhile, the LCSD will hold separate Lunar New Year lantern displays with different themes at North District Park and at Tsuen Wan Park respectively from January 31 to February 7 to celebrate the upcoming Spring Lantern Festival. Details will be announced later.

To safeguard public health, all persons attending the Lunar New Year Lantern Displays must wear their own masks, even when taking photographs.
