Coronavirus | HK logs 2,318 new virus cases

Hong Kong on Friday (July 1) reported 2,318 new COVID-19 infections, including 2,165 locally-transmitted cases and 153 imported ones. The local cases included 761 PCR test-confirmed cases and 1,404 self-declared positive cases.

This is the third day on which the city's daily COVID toll surpasses 2,000.

Speaking at a press conference this afternoon, Dr. Au Ka-wing of the Center for Health Protection said that one more COVID-related death has been recorded in the past day, bringing the death toll of the fifth wave of infection in HK to 9,189.
