Visitor arrivals in Hong Kong drop 18% year-on-year in April: HKTB
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) today (May 16) announced that visitor arrivals in April were around 4,700, down nearly 18% year-on-year.
According to the HKTB, the cumulative number of visitors to Hong Kong in the first four months of this year was about 16,000, a year-on-year drop of more than 27%, with the drop in Mainland and non-Mainland visitors exceeding 22% and nearly 39% respectively. The government's relaxation of quarantine arrangements for inbound travelers and the place-specific flight suspension mechanism since May 1 is believed to help rebound the flow of visitors to Hong Kong.
