Listed entities in China see highest profits in 11 years

China's listed entities have recorded the highest profits since 2011.

In 2021, net profits of the listed entities came in at 2.7 trillion yuan (about 397.66 billion U.S. dollars), accounting for 53.4 percent of all listed companies.

As of April 30, a total of 4,804 listed firms had released their annual financial reports for 2021. The financial reports showed that their total business revenue reached 66.3 trillion yuan, and their net profits totaled 5.1 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.3 percent and 19.8 percent, respectively.

Last year, the total profits of listed entities accounted for 45 percent of those with annual operating revenue of at least 20 million yuan, and 49.3 percent of the same period's GDP.

Meanwhile, the listed entities continued to step up innovation efforts, with a total of 1.3 trillion yuan invested into R&D in 2021, surging 24 percent year on year.
