Social distancing rules extended for another 14 days
The government on Tuesday (Sept. 14) announced it will maintain most of the social distancing measures in place for 14 days until September 29.
These measures cover a new arrangement for fitness centres under the vaccine bubble to relax the distance restriction among participants of training groups or classes of more than four people.
The Food & Health Bureau thanked citizens for complying with various infection control measures so that zero local cases can be maintained despite the severe global pandemic situation.
Noting the high transmissibility of the mutant strains and the low vaccination rate of the elderly who will be subject to a high risk of serious illness and death if there is a fifth wave of the epidemic, the bureau said most of the social distancing measures have to be maintained.
