Watch This | With NSL, vessel of 'one country, two systems' can sail further: Youth lawyer

A seminar was held on Friday (July 16) to mark the first anniversary of the enactment of the National Security Law (NSL) for Hong Kong. Xia Baolong, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, addressed the event, which received positive responses from all sectors in the HK community.

DotDotNews invites Li Kin-ho, HK practising solicitor and chairman of Y Legalites, to share his opinions on Xia's speech as well as the positive effect of the NSL in HK.

Read the full script of the interview here.

"The requirement of 'patriot ruling HK' is vital and long overdue, as it at least could resolutely exclude all anti-China disruptors, especially some of whom were indeed reported to have close affiliation with external forces against China, from the administrative structure," he said.

What inspirations can we draw from Xia's speech? One year on, how effective is the NSL in restoring order in the city? Why and how should HK stick to the principle of "patriots governing HK"? Watch the video for more of Li's insights.
