Watch This | 'IP no longer a problem in China': Belgian lawyer

This episode of "Shanghai Through Our Eyes" features Philippe Snel, president of Shanghai French School.

Coming from Belgium, Snel has lived in Shanghai for over 20 years.

"The Shanghai education system is one of the best in the world," he said.

"We have excellent collaboration with Shanghai authorities, especially with the Shanghai Education Commission," Snel added. "They are always quick to respond and are transparent about information. It's impressive how fast the schools reopened during the pandemic."

Snel also works as an attorney at a local law firm. Being good at Dutch, French and English, he works to assist overseas investors to establish and develop businesses in Shanghai.

"I tell my friends overseas that intellectual property is no longer a problem in China," he said. "There is now a fully-fledged system that is quite efficient."

The Information Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government unveiled earlier the "Shanghai Through Our Eyes" video series as part of efforts to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China this year.

Comprising 100 short videos produced by Xinmin Evening News, the series aims to share stories of Shanghai's development through the eyes of foreigners living in the city.
