Watch This | 'China can continue growth and momentum': Australian expat

This episode of Shanghai Through Our Eyes features Cameron Hume, managing director of Travelex Asia-Pacific.

Coming from Australia, Hume has been living in China for over 20 years.

"My first trip to China was in 1990 and I fell in love with the country," he says. "I went back home and told my parents that one day I would live and work in China."

Hume believes that Shanghai is the destined land for him, and that the reform and opening-up policy, the initiative of One Belt and One Road and the increasing exchange of RMB will bring up more and more opportunities.

Moreover, the efficient service-oriented government, open business environment and talent pool in Shanghai also explain why Cameron determines to stay here.

Hume applied for a long-term residency in China, which has been approved by the government.

"I'm looking forward to going to pick that up in a couple of days and my dream of staying a long time in China will become a reality," he said.
