Eleven miners trapped for two weeks were brought safely to the surface on Sunday (Jan. 24), after the underground explosion at a gold mine in China's Shandong Province.
Video footage showed that rescued workers were lifted in baskets, and their eyes were shielded to protect them after 14 days in darkness.
One worker was reported to have died following the explosion. 10 others who were still trapped remain unaccounted for, as rescue continues.
The explosion happened on January 10, trapping 22 miners underground for more than two weeks.
