Exclusive | CS: LegCo will not be a rubber stamp

The Standing Committee of National People's Congress (NPCSC) announced its decision to disqualify Hong Kong's Legislative Council (LegCo) members who endanger national security, leading to the mass resignation of the opposition.

Some people worry HK democracy has been removed by that decision and the multi-party system will be destroyed as well.

The Chief Secretary for Administration Matthew Cheung Kin-chung defends that Legco will not be a "rubber-stamp" after those 15 members leave.
