Exclusive | Where is my home? Interview with refugees in HK

"So many people have been trapped here for 20 years," said Ciara, a 15-year-old Nigerian refugee who has been in Hong Kong for seven years. During an interview with DotDotNews, Ciara and her mother, who are trapped in Hong Kong, told us how helpless they felt about their lives.

Because the Hong Kong SAR government has not yet signed the 1951 UN Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, refugees often wait months or even years before officials decide whether their refugee claims are valid.

DotDotNews explored Centre for Refugees in Chungking Mansions, Tsim Sha Tsui, to look into the lives of the refugees, hoping that these people who are likely to be overlooked will be brought back into the public attention.
