OMG | Chinese painter turns real cities into his cartoon
This is Xie Jianping's fifth year creating Yiwa, his unique cartoon characters. In the world of Yiwa, everything from Chaotianmen in Chongqing to Zhengyi Fang in Kunming can be personified as the cartoon characters "Little Yi" and "Little Wa". He says that Yiwa is an accident and a surprise. According to him, "Little Yi" for the boy in the hat represents curiosity, "Little Wa" for the girl with long hair represents surprise, and "Yiwa fish" that appears from time to time represent himself as he walks around the city.
