Cleanliness plea for Mid-Autumn Festival

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department today (Sept. 29) urged people to keep places clean when celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The department reminded people not to fly sky lanterns as they can cause injuries or damage to property and not to burn wax. In public places, group gatherings of more than four people are prohibited and people must wear masks, it said.

Residents should also not enter closed leisure facilities such as public beaches and barbecue sites.

The department will patrol its venues on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2 and take enforcement action against littering, wax burning, throwing objects onto trees and flying of sky lanterns, as well as group gatherings of more than four people and those who do not wear masks.
