Local Premier League gets confirmation to resume
The Hong Kong Football Association has received official confirmation from the Home Affairs Bureau that its teams will be allowed to resume play in the local Premier League under required hygiene measures.
Six teams are participating in the restart. Games will be played across four different venues.
Kitchee and Eastern will kick off the restart Saturday afternoon at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground. At the same venue on Sunday, the leaders R&F will play Southern.
Lee Man and Happy Valley will kick off Monday at Hong Kong Stadium.
Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground and Mong Kok Stadium will also be used.
All of the remaining 17 matches will be played behind closed doors to ensure the proper implementation of hygiene measures and social distancing.
Games will be broadcast live and fans will be able to catch the action in real time on the Premier League's Facebook page.
The FA is aiming to wrap up the current campaign in time for the 2020-2021 season to start in late October.
