Everything you need to know at Apple's 'Time Files' event

Apple on Tuesday (Sept. 15) announced a bunch of new hardware and some software. Here are the biggest announcements:
 -Apple Watch Series 6
 -The Apple Watch SE
 -The new 8th-generation iPad
 -The new iPad Air
 -Fitness+ workout services
 -Apple One service bundles

It also launched a new operating system, iOS 14, which will be available on Today (Sept.16) and will include a number of new features, such as widgets, a new way to organize the home screen, and security enhancements. However, Apple has not released a new iPhone, which is expected to come out next month.

Apple Watch Series 6

The Apple Watch Series 6 is 20 percent faster than its predecessor. The key new features is Oxygen Saturation Monitoring, which will be able to monitor the oxygen level in the user's blood and measures it within 15 seconds. It is priced at US$399 (HKD3199).

Apple Watch SE

The less expansive version of the Apple Watch called Apple Watch SE, starting at US$279, is available for pre-order now and will be available Friday (Sept.18) in both cellular and Wi-Fi models.

Apple also highlights a new feature, Family Setup, that allows kids and adults to use the Apple Watch without an iPhone.

iPad 8

Apple announced a new version of entry level iPad, called iPad 8. It has a faster A12 Bionic chip and supports the Apple Pencil. It’ll cost US$329 and US$299 for schools. You can order it now, and it will be available in stores on Friday (Sept.18).

The new iPad Air

The new iPad Air has a new look, smaller bezels, a screen that stretches from edge to edge, an 11-inch size, and comes in rose gold, silver, dark gray, green, and blue.

The new iPad Air has a built-in next-generation Touch ID fingerprint sensor and is equipped by the A14 processor, which is 40 percent faster than its predecessor - the first time Apple has put its most powerful chip on iPad before iPhone.

The new iPad uses a USB-C port for charging, rather than Apple's proprietary Lightning port. It's also compatible with Apple's second-generation Pencil and Magic Keyboard stands.

Fitness+, a fitness service

The service connects Apple Watch users and trainers. Users can access and sync to their Apple Watch's workout video catalog on their iPhone, iPad or Apple TV. New workout videos are released weekly, and users can get real-time stats on their Apple Watch on iPad or iPhone while they work out. Workouts include yoga, dance, treadmill, rowing and more. Many workouts require just a set of dumbbells or no equipment.

Apple One

Apple has announced its long-rumored services bundle, Apple One. It comes in three tiers with different services in each tier:

   Individual: Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and iCloud storage, at US$14.95/month.
   Family: The same services for up to five family members, at US$19.95/month.
   Premier: The same services plus Apple News+ and Apple Fitness+, announced today, for US$29.95/month.
